Hill House Block Party!
On September 25th, the Hill House is hosting a block party at Resorvoir Hill Park. This party will include free food for all those that want to join as well as games. We are hoping that we will have a large turn out so that we can promote the work that is happening within the Hill House, Alive Center, and ICSR. This will be a great chance to educate those who do not know much about our mission as well as enjoy the company of members in the Bowling Green company and the WKU campus community.
A successful social gathering will further help the Hill House's acknowledgment in the Bowling Green community, which will hopefully allow the Hill House to gain positive recognition. Such recognition could open the door to great opportunities within the Bowling Green community.
We are all looking forward to a great party and academic year.
Successful 2nd annually Hill house neighborhood gathering!
Fortunately, we had a very beautiful weather on Sunday after the whole week of rain. This year, Hill house invited the "three people" music band to play music. The band did a wonderful job with soft and tender music. This year, we were barbecuing 200 lbs pig for the event. Besides, we also served hot dog, apple pie cake, soft drinks, snacks and mixed fruit juice. Overall, the food was really good and everybody was enjoying the sun shine talking and playing around. The main guests of this event included WKU students, Alive Center, WKU staffs, neighbors and their families. It was a very good turnout!!! This event was a good opportunity for neighbors get together and at the same time connect them with WKU students who have been trying to create a positive change in the neighborhood.
On the behalf of the Hill house members, we would like to express our thanks to these following people who donated their time and financial support to this event:
Bob Basham family
Leah Ashwill
Terry Shoemaker family
Three people band (Ramona, Clay and Dustin)
Kurt family
Mike Steele
Besides, we would like to thank for all other attendents including WKU students, Hill house members and neighbors. We hope to continue receiving your support in the future!

Very successful Sunday dinner-Vietnam culture and music night!
It took me hours and hours preparing and cooking for the special Sunday dinner-Vietnam culture and music night. I was exhausted. However, I was very happy since lots of people showed up. There were 20 people. Fortunately, we had enough food for everyone. Some guests also brought up a dish to share with everyone. Most of the food were Vietnamese traditional such as Vietnamese coconut sweet potato smoothie, green bean sweet steaky rice, spring rolls, chicken shred with vegetables and so on. It was a very good turnout. All the food were gone. It is interesting to know that Americans love Vietnamese food.
Besides, one of my Vietnamese friend played guitar and sang a traditional Vietnamese song. All the guests discovered Vietnam through music and cuisine. At the end of the dinner, we played game. It is the most crowded Sunday dinner in this semester. Through this event, Hill house members also spred out the words about Hill house so that interesting students can apply for the coming semesters. Here below are series of pictures about the Vietnam culture and music night. On behalf of Hill house member, I would like to thank you all for your attendance and your great support!
This Sunday dinner-Vietnam culture and music night!
It will start at 6pm close to 8pm. It is an open event so you can come and leave in your convenience. See you there!!
